DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) — Twirling Candy won for the fourth time in four career starts, beating Jairzihno by 3¼ lengths on Sunday in the $300,000 Del Mar Derby.

Twirling Candy remained undefeated with a dominant victory in the $300,000 Del Mar Derby (G2) on Sunday, but the win was not without controversy as the Candy Ride (Arg) colt carried an opponent out into the middle of the course when he ducked out badly entering the backstretch.

DEL MAR, Calif. - Twirling Candy survived his own immaturity and a stewards’ inquiry when he rolled to a 3 1/4-length victory on Sunday in the Grade 2, $300,000 Del Mar Derby , which ran his record to a perfect 4 for 4.
